Sonna formed in January of 1998 when Jeremy began playing with Chris, Jim and Paul Petersan. After playing shows in and around Baltimore, they recorded "These Windows Are Pistons" and "Way To Breathe No Breath" at WGNS in Washington, DC. In August, Paul moved to Austin, TX. Drew joined soon thereafter, and Sonna played several more shows before recording with Trevor Holland in September of 1999. The sixth volume in the Travels in Constants series, "The Eventual Bow," came out of this session, as did "kept luminesce/mirameko." In August of 2000, Sonna recorded "We Sing Loud Sing Soft Tonight" at Electrical Audio in Chicago.
