| Seminal college rockers The
Blake Babies were making alternative and indie rock before
the terms even existed. From 1986-1991, Blake Babies records like
Earwig and Sunburn helped
set the stage for what became a major shift in popular music. Chief
songwriter and frontwoman Juliana Hatfield
went on to solo stardom with hits like "My
Sister" and "Spin the
Bottle," while guitarist John
Strohm and drummer Freda Love
joined forces as Antenna and recorded
several albums for Mammoth. Now,
ten years after they parted ways, The Blake
Babies have reunited to record their strongest disc yet."God
Bless The Blake Babies" includes such standout tracks
as "Disappear," "Nothing
Ever Happens," and "Picture
Perfect," and features guest vocals on three songs from
Lemonhead Evan Dando. |
