LoCura CD Release Party!
Spain. Cuba. Jamaica. California. This extraordinary group of musicians mixes grooves and melodies from Flamenco, Reggae, Cuban Son, and North American Folk. To the stage they bring the mysterious and passionate world of Flamenco, combined with the driving, full sound of a salsa band. LoCura creates an irresistible blend of high energy music that bridges cultures and transcends borders, creating a vibrant collage of sound and movement. Emotionally charged music that ignites a pulsating dance party, provides food for the soul and uplifts the spirit...a sound track to feeling alive!

Aphrodesia:
This San Francisco-based 11-piece ensemble has won audiences over with an eclectic, unique sound- a blend of rich, female lead vocals and slamming horn-laden polyrhythmic funk that Global Rhythm Magazine called "a Pan-African mash-up."  While the members of Aphrodesia are admirers of West African styles like afrobeat and Highlife, the group's sound has always included touches of funk, dub, Zimbabwean trance, hip-hop and global pop.

Lulacruza:
Lulacruza instinctively weaves female vocals, South American instruments, found sound objects and field recordings through electronic manipulation. A duo from Argentina and Colombia, Luis Maurette and Alejandra Ortiz make primal songs which combine improvising, channeling and working with the tangible aspects of sound.
