Stephen Lynch looks like the "boy next door,"
but dont let his clean-cut innocence fool you. Stephen Lynch
is really a twisted songwriter who composes and sings dark ballads
about temptations of a Catholic priest, dead girlfriends and gerbils.
Lynchs comedy routine consists of perversely hilarious songs
- not the stuff of everyday conversations. With the lull of soulful
melodies and honeyed vocals, Lynch packages these controversial
ballads into the context of a pretty little song. His politically
incorrect tunes have an outrageous edge that makes you look around
to see whos there before you laugh out loud.
Stephen began playing guitar in college, stringing together his
songs with school friends to amuse people at parties. He never believed
that he would one day be touring the nation at packed shows performing
these ditties.
Since launching his career in 1996 at New York Citys prestigious
comedy club Catch A Rising Star, Lynch has performed at venues around
the nation. Lynch quickly garnered a loyal following that couldnt
get enough of his shocking comedy. Soon, Stephen was appearing regularly
on The Opie & Anthony Show and the college circuit in support
of his first CD, A Little Bit Special. Stephens second CD,
Superhero, is currently available nationwide and he is embarking
on a nationwide tour to bring his unique comic vision to all.
Stephen Lynchs first television special Comedy Central Presents
Stephen Lynch continues to be one of the highest rated Presents
special on Comedy Central. Television credits have included VH1s
Street Games as well as appearances on Comedy Centrals Premium
Blend and Hi-Fi Party, hosted by Sandra Bernhard and Issac Hayes.
Raised in Saginaw, Michigan, Lynch moved to New York after falling
in love with the fast-paced and gritty city. When not performing
to howling crowds, Lynch resides in New York City where he writes
songs and watches a lot of TV.
