Steve Kimock Band

The Steve Kimock Band hosts four intimate nights of music and merriment at the historic Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, culminating with the NYE New Now Ball. What promises to be a rollicking musical run to remember, features the supergroup line-up of Kimock, Rodney Holmes, Robert Walter and Reed Mathis with very special guests.
Up and coming performer Pyeng Threadgill will bring her sultry progressive musical stylings to the stage on Dec 30 and Dec 31. Threadgill's musical roots run deep, daughter of jazz composer Henry Threadgill and choreographer Christina Jones,  Pyeng's sound defies categorization. Her voice is perhaps best described as "a cross between Jill Scott and Cassandra Wilson by way of Nina Simone" (San Diego Union Tribune). Threadgill received widespread critical acclaim for her 2004 debut album, "Sweet Home: The Songs of Robert Johnson". "Countless artists have recorded Johnson's songs", said the San Francisco Chronicle in 2004, "..but none has rendered them quite like Threadgill." This woman is remarkable!  "You might not be aware of New York City jazz singer and performance artist Pyeng Threadgill... You should be" (Blues & Beyond).
The first two nights will feature DJ Dragonfly, bringing his tribal connectivity to the dance floor, and ambient techno innovator DJ Jonah Sharp (aka Spacetime Continuum ) spins his massive grooves on the 30th and 31st.

Also, performing all four nights will be one of the brightest new blues talents David Jacobs-Strain."There has been a slew of young guitarists in recent years littering the blues-rock landscape, but Jacobs-Strain is the real deal." (Dirty Linen)
The New Now Ball will surely be a memorable musical journey as well as feast for the senses with lightshows by Graphic Fantasees, art displays, ambiance by Harmony Productions, and other many exciting surprises.
